Start a
Branch
Join us in empowering more children in Singapore to thrive through strong English literacy foundations.
Community-Driven Change
There are many other neighbourhoods that have children who need literacy to take root. As practical dreamers, we believe working together is the key to reaching them all.

We've learnt a lot since our start in 2019 and are happy to guide you and offer advice on everything from initial planning, practical considerations, programme design, and more.
We would love to support individuals or groups that share our beliefs and vision to enable literacy for all children in Singapore.
Let's collaborate
Here are some ways we could work together.
1. Support
There are many ways to enable English literacy. Developing what works best for you and the children you support is crucial.
We’re happy to share what we’ve learned on curriculum building, volunteer management, parent engagement and getting started.
This is for you if:
You’re excited to enable English literacy for all children, but already have a specific idea of what you’d like to offer.
2. Start a New Reading Roots Branch
Let’s have a chat! Once we’re aligned on working together, we’ll share resources (activity sheets, learning plans, etc.) and support on starting another Reading Roots branch.
This is for you if:
You want to bring Reading Roots to a new neighbourhood in Singapore.

FAQs
Getting started
I'm passionate about helping to bridge the literacy gap in Singapore, but have never started a non-profit. Where do I begin?
Starting a non-profit can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. We offer guidance on everything from initial planning, programme design, practical operational considerations, and more.

When we started Reading Roots, we got valuable insights from the charity ReadAble that offered clarity and saved us so much time.

If we can play a small role in helping you take a step forward, we’re happy to help.
We believe English literacy should be accessible to all children, regardless of background or circumstances.

If, like us, you’re committed to building child-centric programmes that prioritise positive learning experiences, you’re likely a great fit.

Support and Resources
What kind of support do you provide to new organisations?
We offer guidance on everything from strategic planning, curriculum development, operational considerations and more. This could look like: advice through ad-hoc conversations or resource sharing to start a Reading Roots branch in a new neighbourhood.

Have other ideas on how we could work together? Share them with us here – we’re open to exploring new ways to collaborate.
I already have a literacy programme but want to expand. Can you help?
Yes! Whether you're looking to refresh current programmes or add new services, we’re happy to share insights and resources with organisations at every stage of growth.
Do you provide funding or financial support?
We don’t provide direct funding, but we can connect you with foundation or network partners who are better placed to offer advice. We can also share resources about available grants and funding opportunities.
